I haven't been posting that much. You'll see why in a few days. I'm working a project. Hold tight!
So recently I've gotten into running. Its probably a good thing haha. I've found that the more I focus on music and stuff, the more I can zone out from what I'm actually doing and just enjoy the music. With that said, my favourite discovery is a mix that A-Trak did for Nike.
In his classic style of POPART!, Ron English has teamed up with Homer to create an image to commemorate their 20th anniversary episode... check it out
Well, I knew it would happen. First 3D movies, and now 3D TV. This is amazing, and I'm really excited. Basically, it all begins with Sony offering 3D Tv's this summer, and right in time for the World Cup, ESPN will launch ESPN3D. ESPN promises to show at least 85 live events on this new channel, which may come at an added cost for viewers. If you are no stranger to 3D movies, you will understand how seeing Beckham bend it in all glories of height, width and depth is a life changing experience.
From January 14th to January 20th, one of my favourite female photographers will be putting on an exhibit at the Yancey Richardson Gallery in NYC. Based out of LA, Alex Prager has always managed to keep my attention through her photography. This show, is just another reason why I wish I lived in NYC.
I've realized recently that Wings + Horns is definitely one of my favourite clothing companies right now. I don't know what it is about them specifically, but I just seem to like what they're doing. Although recently they split into Wings + Horns Archive, and Wings + Horns Research, I'm just going to post their offerings into one post.
Recently, XXL put out their list of the best "freshman" to hiphop of 2009, complete with a writeup and grades. Drake, Wiz Khalifa, J.Cole, Asher Roth, B.O.B, KiD CUDi are among those on the list. Truly, these guys are the future of hip hop. I'm at a point where I'm really starting to have faith in HipHop again, since the arrival of people like Wiz, Drizzy, WALE and CUDi. I guess only time will tell how the future unfolds for these Freshman. Until then, lets see how they did on the report card.
13th Witness just produced a very cool little video showcasing the skills of the notorious Futura. I really like this video simply because of the way its shot, and the way that they play with focus in the video.
Brian Wood has done something I've really like here. He's mixed military with nautical elements, which I've seen attempted before, and not pulled off nearly as well as this. I really like the simplicity of this line. Anyways, check out some of it.
So, in the spirit of getting my shit together, I've started a new project. I plan on taking a NICE picture every day, for 365 days. At the end, maybe I'll throw them into a NAICE colored book or something. Who knows. We'll see where it goes. Nevertheless, even though I should have started on the 1st, I've started now because it seemed like an arbitrary place to start. So, here it is, my first picture of the year...
I have been waiting this album since I first heard their first CD. Honestly, I love love love these guys. Although their album isnt the BEST I've heard from last year, its just so god damn happy and upbeat that it makes me want more of them. Honestly, I love it so much. I'm sitting here listening to "White Sky" and LOVING every second of it. At this point I'm just ranting, but you have to download this album.
I've always wanted a pair of these but I'm having trouble bringing myself to copping. Anyways, Common Projects have released a picture of their new Achilles. This year, its features a gum sole and brown leather backing, in both White and Black. Mostly, they're puuurty.
How many times have you been stuck without battery power? Its happened to all of us. Well, designers Song Teaho & Hyejin Lee have solved the problem. If your battery dies, simply take it out, swing it around your finger a few times, and you're good.
My step dad showed me this album yesterday and I've been listening to it ever since. Apart from the actual Vampire Weekend album that comes out in a few days, I think I've found my 2010 equivalent for the Vampire Weekend album. I listened to it non-stop last year, and so far, this is having the same effect.
But I got them because I think they're jokes.
Saw Rachel today before I go back to uni...took some pictures, chilled, had earl grey.
This has got to be one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time!
Have you ever seen a building in motion that actually changes its shape? Sounds unbelievable but not to Dr. David Fisher. This building will never appear exactly the same twice.
It is amazing but you will have the choice of waking up to sunrise in your bedroom and enjoying sunsets over the ocean at dinner.
In addition to being such an incredible engineering miracle it will produce energy for itself and even for other buildings because it will have wind turbines fitted between each rotating floor (picture 2). So an 80-story building will have up to 79 wind turbines, making it a true green power plant.
