155 John

Nestled across the street from Much music, in between a convenience store and a Starbucks, sits 155 John, one of the longest running boutiques in Toronto, and I'm pretty sure the longest running in terms of streetwear. Recently taken over by Taurean Scotland, the name was changed from Lounge to 155 John, but he insists that "The name may change but the vibe is still the same."

This streetwear shop carries mostly New York–based labels, though a portion of the boutique is a slice of trendy L.A. There is also the popular Tokyo line "Rocksmith" and streetwear classic names such as 10 Deep, and Crooks & Castles, both offering raw denim jeans and bright outerwear. If that isn't your thing, however, 155 has a large selection of Tee's, fitted caps and more. Perhaps a Lemar and Dauley tee is what you need? 155 John has got you covered, being the premier shop for Lemar Dauley in Toronto.

Mr. Scotland has the ladies covered too, offering brands such as Hellz Bellz, MaMa (back in the day I tried on one of the fitteds from them thinking it was a dudes hat, stuff is FRESH, check out the post on twitter "I really don't get how guys ALWAYS go for the ladies stuff thinkin it's guys stuff.) and much more. The complete brand list is 10 Deep, Crooks & Castles, FORT Apparel, Gourmet - Not The Shoes, Hellz Bellz, Legin Knits, Lemar & Dauley, MAN!AC, Married to the MOB, Money, Mishka, Muffs, Peter Franco Sneakers, RockSmith, Royalz, SneakTip.

Lastly, my personal favorite, just a few days ago Taurean got in a shipment of Gabriel Urist jewelry. I love this stuff, and back in the day, I dropped about $250 on one myself. Don't think for a second thats overpriced, because all this stuff is handmade, and when you're buying one, you know there isnt 100 other people in the world with the same thing.

All in all, 155 John is the place that gave Nomadic Infantree our first stocklist, and for that i'll always respect the store. I've always been a pretty regular customer, even before nomadic got the stocklist, and the staff has always been good to me. Good gear, good prices, good location, go check it out haha.

P.s.. don't let the slouch fool you, Taurean is always moving, and updating, so check out the Facebook Group and Their Blog.
